Introduction to the Wines of Bordeaux

Deadline: 3rd November 2002

Date: Tuesday 5th November 2002
Time: From 7:30pm
Venue: The Lansdowne Club, 9 Fitzmaurice Place, London W1J 5JD

We would like to invite our members to attend an Introduction to the Wines of Bordeaux. This will be a great opportunity to learn about wines from what is arguably the most well known wine region in the world. The evening will consist of an introduction to the basics of wine tasting, and include useful practical information such as what to look for when ordering wines in restaurants. The wines have been specifically chosen to enable comparison and education - from recent vintages of generic Bordeaux Claret, through Cru Bourgeois to Cru Classe from all the major appellations and vintages back to the early 1980's. A Californian equivalent will also be included so you can decide which you really like best! Your hosts for the evening will be Edward Fitzgerald and James Warbrick-Smith, the former President and Vice-President, respectively, of the Oxford Wine Society.

Ticket Price: £25.00 per person
