We would like to welcome members of the Stanford Club to our pre-Christmas ballet event. The evening will commence with a pre-performance reception in the Stoll Room at the London Coliseum. Our guests are also invited to a pre-performance talk in the auditorium to hear Gerald Scarfe discuss his very dinstinctive designs for the performance. English National Ballet’s brand new production of The Nutcracker is set to be a special pre-Christmas treat for all. Designed by celebrated caricaturist and designer Gerald Scarfe, choreographed by acclaimed British choreographer Christopher Hampson, and set to the ever popular Tchaikovsky score (including the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”), this production should be a magical night to remember. The classic story follows Clara, a young girl whose dream-world adventures include fantastical battles with a Mouse king and the transformation of her Nutcracker Doll into a handsome Prince who whisks her away to the magical Land of Snow and to the extraordinary Kingdom of Sweets. The colourful production and vivid production will celebrate all that is best about this most feastive performance and will be performed by 64 dancers and full orchestra of the English National Ballet. |
