We
are very delighted to announce our next Stanford Alumni Business Forum
Event hosted by John A Manzoni - Group Managing Director and Chief Executive,
Refining and Marketing, BP plc. and a member of the Stanford Business
School Advisory Council. John’s topic will be “Leadership in Today's
Changing Environment”.
(Wine Canapés will be served).
John Manzoni graduated from Imperial College, London in 1983 with an Honours
Degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Petroleum Engineering. In
1994, he was a Sloan Fellow at Stanford University where he earned a Masters
Degree in Business Management.
Mr. Manzoni joined BP in 1983 and spent the early part of his career working
in the North Sea. He has worked in a variety of roles including Head of
Investor Relations, Head of Strategy, and Vice President, Prudhoe Bay
in Alaska. More recently he was the executive from BP responsible for
the merger integration process between BP and Amoco, and then became Group
Vice President in charge of Downstream European Marketing, in addition
to downstream planning and performance globally. In 2000, he was appointed
Regional President for the eastern United States and in 2001, an Executive
Vice President and the Chief Executive for Gas, Power and Renewables,
the post he held until his current appointment in 2002. He was appointed
to the board of BP plc in February 2003.
