Venue Change Notice (June 9th): The meeting will take place at the TfL headquarters at 42-50 Victoria Street instead of 1 Butler Place. See details above. Bookings: For all reservations please email our events Director, Lesley-anne Hunt - (lesley.hunt@stanfordalumni.org.uk), Our next event in June is quite unique and very interesting. We will get the insider’s view of the workings of, and opportunities ahead for London Underground’s new Oyster Card programme through Charles Monheim (GSB ’80) who is the in charge with the the development, implementation and management of the Card. The Oyster card has been a tremendous boost in the modernisation of the London transport system. The Oyster has made London Transport ticket purchases significantly more convenient and gives TfL a powerful tool to track passenger traffic as well as ticket pricing schemes. The future of the Card holds dramatic promise. Such a card has huge potential in becoming THE cash alternative payment system for purchases beyond the London Underground, say purchasing a Starbuck’s coffee with your Oyster card, or paying at the cinema, etc. and transform London into a ‘cashless society’. Refreshments will be provided. Closing Date: 7th June 2005 BOOKINGS: For all reservations please email our events Director, Lesley-anne Hunt - (lesley.hunt@stanfordalumni.org.uk), ONLINE PAYMENT: |
