We are delighted to announce this exiting event. Professor Bill Abrams is visiting the UK on the 22nd October and has kindly offered to talk to members of the Stanford Club when he stops off on his travels in London. This is a very short notice announcement, but we hope that you are able to attend. Refreshments will be provided during the evening. Professor Abrams talk will be based around The US Supreme Court 2009-2010 Term: A look at the key cases that the Court will consider, and some thoughts on where it might be headed.
Bio Bill has handled a number of high-profile pro bono matters through the U.S. and California Supreme Courts, particularly involving the death penalty, education, rights of children and youth, and children’s welfare. He is a recipient of the State Bar of California Wiley Manual Award for pro bono legal representation and a Daily Journal Pro Bono Achievement Honoree. Bill was counsel for the City and County of San Francisco in the successful litigation that prevented the San Francisco Giants from moving to Tampa, Florida in 1992. He is active in the American Bar Association Death Penalty Representation Project, and is counsel for defendants in capital cases in Alabama. BOOKING Please send your bookings in ASAP.
