Inside the Jazz Improviser's Mind Ever wondered how jazz musicians invent music spontaneously in concert? Jazz pianist, composer, Carleton alum and Stanford University Professor Mark Applebaum '89 knows - and he'll explain it all in a lecture-recital. He'll also provide a short introduction to standard forms such as the 12-bar blues and the 32-bar song form, and perform several jazz standards.
